Research On The Problem Of Induction And Jin Yuelin’s Answer

Jin Yuelin’s theory of inductive as directly to answer Hume proposed inductiveproblem, from a logical point of view, might not be perfect. But as a kind ofphilosophical theory, had its important theoretical value. First,Jin Yuelin was the firstphilosopher who brought Hume’s problem of induction in China,and systematicallyand depthly studied. His induction defense scheme not only brought a great influenceto Chinese traditional philosophy, but also introduced Chinese philosophy to theworld. Second, Jin Yuelin systemly analyzing the theory of inductive principle,convincingly demonstrating the apriority of inductive principle, logicly defining thetruth value of the antecedent and the consequent in the inductive principle, tactfullyillustrating the time factor in the inductive reasoning.Third,Jin Yuelin’s inductivetheory was a part of his theory of objective knowledge, at the same time, wasattributed to powerfully explore for the truth of science and systemly defending theobjective and necessity of knowledge. Overall, the illuminating of inductive problemanswer should become our important theory resources of epistemologicalmethodology research.This thesis is divided into four parts.First of all, it introduces the academicbackground of Jin Yuelin’s answer.It’s the origin and the influence,including severaltypical solutions of the Western philosophers and logicians; Secondly,it elaborates JinYuelin’s answers to the problem of induction, involving in the formulation of theprinciple of induction and the certification of inductive principle authenticity. Thirdly,it comments JinYuelin’s answer program and gives my own views for induction,which is the key part of this article; Finally, it analysis the significance of studying theproblem of induction and the enlightment it brought, there are questions in theinduction, but does not affect people in the use of scientific cognition activities.
