The Scholars is a realism creation long satires which was written by a famous qing dynasty novelist Wu Jingzi. In the sequence, QianXuantong said:"It is one of first-class literary works in500years","It is a completely established great era of Chinese literary."The research of this article is based on the dual tone verb in The Scholars, through the classificational research to achieve that in this period the dual tone verb’s presentation,inheritation,use,and the character of the new dual tone verbs’ when use them. This article mainly uses the frequency statistics, static structural analysis and historical comparison method.The first part is the introduction, divided into3parts. The writer’s works introduction, the meaning of choosing this title, the present status of this research, and the standard of defy the dual tone verbs in The Scholars.Mainly introduces the author WuJingZi’s life and its representative novel, main content of the The Scholars, and the writing procession, and at the same time, summed up the versions of different The Scholars, make an explaination of why I choose this one. According to the importance and necessary of the research on The Scholars, make an announcement on the meaning of choosing this essay, and make a conclusion on the present status through the summary of all results on The Scholars, and in the end, defy a criterion on the basis of the summary on The Scholars’s dual tone verbs’ character.The second section is the dual verbs’ structure analysis of The Scholars. Analyses the freeze structure of the appeared dual tone verbs and figure out their frequency Through making the statistics of dual verbs’ table, at the same time, combine the meaning of all the verbs and the work, divide them as pure words and combining words, then study them in different way, and by the end, make a conclusion on the special use of "with prime heterotypic word" in this work.The third part is a research on the historical gradation of dual verb. Mainly through the diachronic research, analyses the novel dual meanings of verbs in the earliness’s, divide the ancient words and new produce words, thus summarize The Scholars’s dual tone verbs inherit and develop the former generation.At the end of the article is a conclusion, mainly elaborate the verdict of this research, the goal we achieved and the further research space on this issue.
