Edouard Vuillard: Painter-decorator

Edouard Vuillard (1868.11.11——1940.6.21), French painter ofNabis School, was born in Cuiseaux, Saone-et-Loire in November11th,1868.In1885, his friend Ker-Xavier Roussel encouraged Vuillard to join himat the studio of the painter Diogene Maillart(1840—1926). In March1886Vuillard entered the Academie Julian where he was taught by TonyRobert-Fleury, and in July1887he passed the entrance examination to theEcole des Beaux-Art.At the present, most studies in our country are focused mainly onVuillard’s life story and meanings of his works.Less people talks abouthis form language in the view of a painter. My text here want to provideyou a new idea of Vuillard’s works though my exploration of Vulliard’creative background,form, colour and distemper painting techniques. Allthe above will do a lot to my own works.
