The Collection Of Characters From The Qin Bamboo Slips Kept In Yue Lu Academy·Vol.2

The second volume of the Qin Bamboo Slips kept in YueLu Academy was a precious bond of Qin Dynasty Bamboo scripts which was bought from Hong Kong in a serious situation by YueLu Academy of HuNan University in December2007. Its context could be originated as early as the thirty fifth year of Qin Shi Huang. This volume includes all the scripts about the calculation. According to its context, we can know it is a copy of the mathematics manuscripts. With the discover of this scripts, it is not only helpful to understand the mathematics in early China, but also to the use situation of Qin Dynasty’s official mathematics. Except the mathematics, it is useful for us to study the Qin Dynasty’s social, politics, economy, law and the military.The second volume of the Qin Bamboo Slips kept in YueLu Academy was discussed ardently by the researchers after its publishment. Most of the research focused on the interpretation of its context, the mathematics problems and the value for the history and culture. Until to now, there were no articles about its collection of characters. It is well known by us that the collection of characters is significant to study the change of the Chinese characters and to recognize the Qin Dynasty’s writing situation and to observe the Qin Bamboo slips’handwriting feature. On the foundation of the former researchers’findings, this paper willdeal with all of the characters of the second volumn of the Qin Bamboo Slips kept in YueLu Academy.
