Research On Children-orientation And Picture Book Design

Because the attention of children’s early education in today’s society, the importance ofpicture books gradually be reasserted for children’s growing. China now is setting off the design,publishing and marketing craze of picture books. Children as the main readership of picturebooks is supposed to be the main object of picture books design, however, we tend to ignore theimportance. Children-orientation as a proper Standard Outlook deserves attention by picturebook designers. This report starts from children-orientation concept, analyzes several aspects ofphysical and mental development of children, emphasizes children is the starting point and thedestination of picture book design. First of all, this report straighten out the relationship betweenpicture books and the development of child-orientation concept, pointing out that the productionand development of children-orientation concept produced significant influence of children’seducation and children’s literature. The report comprehensively analysis of the nature of childrenthesis development, growth needs and cognitive development in different age stages, alsocombined with children’s reading experience, ultimately analysis the situation settled frompicture book design and the perspective of Children-orientation. Besides, this report also specificanalysis the Picture books aim at the structure of the book, strive to obtain the design method ofchild-centered.
