These novelists, who were once known for there pioneer exploration,were faced with an impact of brand-new cultural atmosphere inevitably. Since theyhave experienced the nothingness of the80’s Pioneer times, they had to think aboutwhere to go, and turned the direction to the local and reality. Yu Hua is the typicalrepresentatives among them.Critics generally agree that Yu Hua’s creation has been continuously towarddeepening, he intended to weaken specific time, space and social background instoryline of his works before the1990s. The realistic background in his works aftertransformation was going strong, even with a strong impulse to intervene in reality.Especially, the realistic color of his new work “The seventh day” reached anunprecedented level, many people regarded this novel as “skewered” news and“compiled” microblog, which confirmed from the side his strong sense of anxiety inthe face of reality.But Yu Hua is also a whiter who keeps the spirit of pioneer. He built up fromvanguard novels, so he always start his novel with a calm description of violence,absurdity, the ugly human nature themes, and was always difficult to clear influenceof such writing habit. Even if in the discussion and reveal of the reality of the tragicexistence and the world absurdity of the1990’s, he continues to defend and uphold hisspiritual idea of vanguard literature. In his works such as “brother” and “The seventhday”, the writer dedicated to be faced with an elusive and discarded age, he achievedhis creative journey by highlight of good human nature, return of objective reality and use of pop elements. In this way, former vanguard literature is no longer a flash in thepan remaining in history and memory, but still vividly exists in the Chinesecontemporary literature, occasionally brings the new breath to the contemporaryliterature.So this article considers that the two main lines of Yu Hua’s creation aredescription of vanguard and reality, but there is a dynamic process of change,vanguard color has been transmuted and reality element is in increasing in his creation.However, there are many perplexities in his description of reality, which obviouslyreflected in “The seventh day”. We attempt to conduct a comb of Yu Hua’s creationand make a perspective on creation of contemporary writers by the new work “Theseventh day”.
