Liaoning Normal University Chopin’s Ballade (No.1OP.23) plays an important role inall of his musical works. This dissertation adopts analysis of construction that mainlyconcertratin on the form and two different version, combining the unique style of Chopin’steaching and American comprehensice musicianship simultanously in order to understandhow to perform a musical work that accompanying with listening skills. Thinking positivelyfor the value of comparison for performing version. Only in clearly mastered the mainstructural frame after music linguistic expression, can the characteristics of the musicperforming, understanding, appreciation have higher levels. And considering actively thathow to resolve musical problems during our pratice. It is aims at analyzing the comparativeversions of performance and piano pedaggoy, through two pianists’ performance to masterclearly the main music form,music language, and aural effects to attain the deeperunderstanding of internal meaning of composition, composer’s ideas, and appreciation. Twofamous pianists who are selected depend on many factos such as different born times, thestyle of performers, individual factors, we all pick up which performance version morepersuasive and more popular. But these two pianists have excellent performing skills and highreputations that setting a good example when they performing the Ballade NO.1of Chopin.The significance and necessity of absorbing and using the essence of foreign performances aswell as advoiding sameness or dull repetition. This dissertation belongs to the professionalpiano dissertation. According to this composition, after the results of the in-depth comparativestudy we all intend to achieve the understanding of music and performance form artistic effectbetween specific links.This dissertation was completed during my two years study if UnitedStates. Through empirical analysis method, makes comparative audio analysis of every note,every phrase, music form by hearing, analyzing and appreciating, putting them on differentmarks to musical score. The presentation based on specific analysis.This paper is made up of the introduction, five chapters and the conclusion.Chapter1briefly introduces the backgrounds of composer and construction.Chapter2makes the detailed analysis of different parts of this composition: Expositoryfunction, Transitional function, Developmental function and Terminative function. Chapter3analyzes the detailed comparison among the two pianists after exploring generallythe selecting of performing versions.Chapter4introducing the Chopin’s teaching method from which, it bring implications for usthrough analyzing the two different versions and deeper studying.Chapter5giving some suggestions for future area in piano pedagogy and music educationIn conclusion, three intriguing problems about detailed analysis should combine with thewhole musical setting, the performance versions in foreign country and our country and whatproblems still need to be resolved in our present piano pedagogy and how can we preparedwell for our future music education.
