Influences Of Language Fusion On International Trade

With the profound integration of economic globalization and information network, human language has also undergone a strong sense of global convergence and language fusion comes into being, creating the potential for barrier-free communication across international boundaries. As the important economic exchange, international trade has become unprecedentedly active in the context of globalization for the increasing reduction in trade barriers. Language’s role of invisible barrier has become increasingly prominent, turning into shared challenges when engaged in economic exchanges, but the interrelationship between language and trade draws little attention. Indeed, the making and motivation of language fusion imposes profound influences on international trade. In all, it is the ignoring but pressing problem to be solved. In view of this, this study has probed into the following issues from the point of language economics.(i) What is the making and motivations of language fusion?(ii) Which positive influences does language fusion exerts on international trade?(iii)Whether does language fusion have negative impacts on international trade? If so, what kind of measures could be taken to avoid them?This study is presented in five parts around the above three problems. The introduction in the first chapter states the research background, significance, objectives and approaches applied. Chapter Two gives a brief review and summary of the related literatures home and abroad, and then establishes language fusion model with an analysis of its formation and motivations, aiming to construct a theoretical platform for the whole thesis. The third chapter covers the interaction between language and trade, providing the theoretic support for further study. The fourth chapter comes with the core issue of the article. It elaborates the positive influences brought by language fusion on international trade from three aspects and applies Maslow’s hierarchy of needs to point out the unfavorable impacts of language fusion on international trade, and ultimately proposes some strategies to address these negative influences. It proves that seeking language equilibration enables to optimize the path of language fusion, and meanwhile the establishment of applicable language policy and encouragement of multilingualism could promote the deep language fusion, so as to make international trade benefit more participates and boom world economy. The conclusion part summarizes the work undertaken and the results derived, suggesting the shortcomings of the thesis and brings up the next step of study.In view of interdisciplinarity, this study adopts various methods to research linguistics. It initiatively creates language fusion model and applies avails matrix of the pioneering language game analytical mode to analyze the positive influences supplied by language fusion on international trade. Meanwhile, it extends the hierarchy of needs to tentatively discuss the negative impacts. Because of the lack for the related literature, the theory system of this study needs further refining and also intensifies the newly-built models’explanatory power in the follow-up study.
