As a great writer of the contemporary literary world, Tie Ning has kept writing morethan thirty years, and has created Oh, Xiangxue, A Red Blouse Without Buttons, RoseGate, Opposite, How Far Is Forever, Bathing Woman, Pregnant Women and Cattle,Straw Stack, Cotton Pile and a series of short and medium styles novels. Throughout thecreative process of Tie Ning, you will find that thoughtfulness, kindness and love runthrough her varied writing style. Following the Rose Gate, No Rain City, and BathingWoman, Tie Ning launched her fourth full-length masterpiece-Native Cotton in late2005,which capture half-century section from late Qing and early Republic of China to the victoryof Anti-Japanese war. With the warm rustic way of speaking and realistic approach,she meltsthe changeable situations in difficult times into the ordinary things that happens in stupidvillage in mid Hebe province skillfully and puts the deep thinking on the history andindividual fate in the rural customs naturally. The whole work implies torrential atmospherein the gentle and delicate writing with not only heavy sense of history, but also full of worldlybeauty of everyday life. It is filled with distinct Chinese aesthetic elements,both in theaesthetic object and in the aesthetic characteristics.At present, the research on Native Cotton mainly focuses on the comparative study withCotton Pile and the study on the country narrative style and female image and so on, but lackssystematic study on the elements of Chinese aesthetic research. The author attempts toexplore the Chinese aesthetic elements in Native Cotton, by which to find out the care ofindividual life, consideration of the national spirit and the real and simple display of thehuman nature behind the seemingly mundane plot, to obtain a look back at the history and thepower of the mind.This thesis is divided into three chapters: The first chapter describes the theoretical partfrom the aesthetic elements and national problems in the contemporary Chinese literature;Chapter two combined content of the works, from the characters, themes, custom threeaspects show Chinese aesthetic objects in Native Cotton; Chapter Three focuses on artistic expression to show Chinese aesthetic characteristics from the structure and narrative, detaildescription, language and style.Native Cotton is one of originality. Tie Ning creates a naive peaceful, authentic Worldthrough subtle aesthetic elements, and creates a group of ordinary kind, distinctive characters.Although it is not chaotic situation saga, let the reader get the shock of the soul in a warm andsimple folk customs.
