The English teaching has been changing from traditional chalk-blackboard way into a way of using multifunctional media which has a large amount of information, vivid effect, and its massive-learner-oriented capacity. In addition to those merits, the teaching of English through multifunctional media still has some shortcomings. English learners are studying English in a passive way, for they have no interactivity among others and what they would do is just receiving information. With the development of information technology, teaching college English via the microblog has changed the overall situation, which the teachers and English learners will surely benefit a lot from this teaching mode and it will definitely meet a bright future. My thesis will focus on the feasibility, advantages, application and importance of teaching college English especially oral English based on microblog.A large number of people have paid wide attention to the quality-oriented education work of English for university students. In particular, how to improve the qualities of oral English teaching for the university English class attracts wide attention. The poor qualities of the college oral English class have even become a trouble for both the students and the teachers. Under this circumstance, how to improve the teaching qualities of the oral English class for university students has become a large difficult problem. This paper analyzes the application of Microblog in oral English class. It has put forward a counter strategy for improving the oral teaching qualities of college English classroom and offered referential support for the future teaching development in order to improve the qualities of oral English teaching in college English class.The main task of my study is to integrate the microblog as learning platform with teaching in order to explore the general process; the principle that teachers should be followed; the strategy we can use and the reasonable evaluation method when we use microblog in the classroom instruction. This article includes five chapters:the first chapter puts forward the article’s research background, significance as well as the domestic and foreign research. In the second chapter, the author describes the concept and characteristic of the microblog and analyzes its teaching application potential and also compares between microblog and other teaching materials. The third chapter describes the problems in oral English class as well as the suggested techniques about how to improve the quality of students’oral English. In the fourth part, the author mainly discusses the feasibility and implementation of microblog in oral English class, the evaluation of teaching effect and so on. The last chapter discusses the conclusion and the major findings, and proposes the next research direction and improving suggestions.The study results show that using microblog in the teaching ought to take the corresponding strategies according to the different teaching content; its advantages more reflect in promoting communications between teachers and students; teacher’s guidance and the influence of the central figures affect the effective teaching; being familiar with microblog skills and the fine digital learning habits can promote teaching effect; the advantage of group cooperation is reflected not obvious but the study still need to be further perfected.The results show that:(1) The multimedia teaching mode based on microblog compensate for the drawbacks of traditional English mode to a certain extent, and significantly improved students’ enthusiasm and attitude to speak English.(2)Oral English based on microblog enhances communications between teachers and students, and improve students’cooperative learning and self-learning ability.(3) The oral English instruction based on microblog effectively enhances learners’oral English ability.The innovation of the research is that it brings microblog to the teaching of oral English, and try to change the traditional oral college English teaching mode by constructing an English collaborative teaching mode based on microblog, hoping to bring new ideas and methods for the teaching reform of college oral English in the network environment.
