Research On The Auxiliary Verbs Feelings Moving Direction

The basic meaning and usage of giving and accepting auxiliary verbs「てやる」「てくれる」「～てくもらう」have often been attributed to expressing "grace".Giving and accepting auxiliary verbs evolved from giving and accepting verbs. Theyretain the basic semantic function of verbs. However, as a separated grammar item,giving and accepting auxiliary verbs can also be used to express the meanings of"non-grace" and other emotions.Ascribing the emotional significance of giving and accepting auxiliary verbsonly to grace or non-grace in most studies is very one-sided. Just like the world isnot black and white, giving and accepting auxiliary verbs can express some verycomplicated emotions according to the semantic environment and the speaker’ssubjective consciousness. Therefore, from studies of “emotional moving direction”,namely “moving to oneself” and “moving to others”, this thesis discusses thesemantic function of giving and accepting auxiliary verbs. On the basis of discussingthe basic meanings of giving and accepting verbs and giving and accepting auxiliaryverbs, standing at the speaker’s position, the emotional significances of giving andaccepting auxiliary verbs are analyzed. The studies find that giving and acceptingauxiliary verbs make the movement direction of the meaning of sentence to transfer,and the speaker’s subjective consciousness determines whether the emotion ofsentence transfers to himself or to the listener and third party, that is,“moving tooneself” or “moving to others”.The results show that the emotional moving direction o「fてやる」is " moving toothers " and the emotional moving direction of「てくれる」and「～てくもらう」is " moving to oneself ".
