Research On The Predicate-object Structure In Zhanguoce

Zhanguoce is one of the important pre-qin classics, It hasimportant research value in linguistics, history and literature. Thispaper select Zhanguoce as a corpus to study the predicate-objectstructure. This paper use the Immediate Constituent analysis to studypredicate-object structure mentioned in the Zhanguoce in acomprehensive and exhausted way. First we descript it from twoaspects of qualitative and quantitative, and then we study the objectsemantic role and the semantic relation of predicate-object structure.In conclusion, we use the “zero-deviation theory” to study flexibleuseing predicate. For some special grammar phenomenon, we based onsynchronic, take an investigation in its origin and dynamicallydevelopment. In addition to the introduction and conclusion, the fulltext is divided into four chapters.The introduction part introduces the corpus value of Zhanguoceand the significance of topics, defines the connotation of thepredicate-object structure, expounds the research situation of theselected topic and the research methods.The first chapter researches the combination type of predicate-object structure in Zhanguoce. We divide it into four basic structureforms--generally type, pre-object type, double-objects type,object-omited type. Generally type (predicate+object) is the mostbasic types; pre-object type have more exacting syntactic conditions,including the interrogative pronouns brought to front, pronounbrought to front in negative sentences, object brought to frontguided by structural particle shi and zhi.The most frequently is theinterrogative pronouns brought to front. in addition we also foundthree cases of unconditional object front; double-objects type is divided into giving type, teaching type and titling type. giving typeis the most. Object-omited type is useing today for the expression ofstrong economy. Object-omited type is also the language todistinguish principle and efficiency principle, Broughting forward toomit is used frequently, Be omitted after is not seen. This chaptermainly adopts the language distinguish principle and efficiencyprinciple.The second chapter researches the predicate in Zhanguoce.Predicate is mainly composed by verb. the nouns, adjectives, numeralsis also used. There are many kinds of shidong and yidong. Stand inthe angle of the grammar study, this paper divides the verb intobehavior verbs, mental activities verbs, existential verbs and modalverbs, from the point of view of a quantity, the most for actionverbs. Nouns, adjectives can be use as a general verb predicate, theycan also be used for shidong and yidong; Numerals predicate is less.The third chapter researches the object in Zhanguoce. Object canbe composed by nouns, pronouns, adjectives, numerals, verbs. It canalso be nominal phrases and predicate nominal phrases. Nouns,pronouns, fixed phrases is the most common ingredients. Finally westudied the semantic role of the object. the object semantic role isdivided into patient, agency, other, and other classes are divided toreason, purpose, time, results and manner. Pointing out that theobject semantic role and predicate can interact.The fourth chapter study on the semantic relation of predicate-object structure. This chapter first sort out the research about thesemantic relation of predicate-object structure, and points out thatpredicate and object must participate in together. Then we divide thesemantic relation of predicate-object structure in Zhanguoce to10categories–for domination, for relating, for shidong, for yidong,for weidong, for yindong, for duidong, for xiangdong, for yudong, for yudong.Conclusion part elaborate the characteristics of predicate-objectstructure in Zhanguoce, puts forward the research conclusion of thispaper. In reference to traditional theory, we use the “zero–deviation” theory to analyzed some grammatical phenomenon. Andpoints out that the predicate which is flexible used and the specialsemantic relation of predicate-object structure is a deviation tozero. The deviation can enhance the expressing effect.
