The Predicate Object Structure

The predicate-object structure of Guo Yu is main content of this article,exhaustive analyses and statistics have been done to investigate the features of predicate-object structure in Guo Yu.Through directly constituent analysis,the predicate-object structure studied qualitatively and quantitatively,the relation of the object meaning is classified.In this article,those study-worthy problem,special grammatical phenomena are compared from different respect,also,we search the original of these phenomenon and consider them dynamically.The qualitative and quantitative analysis of Guo Yu suggest that the total number of predicates is 6122.,which constituted by 1044 different words.The total number of predicates is6255,constituted by 3378 different constructions and words.They concern every aspect of social activities.We separate predicate-object structures into four types:the general description,the object fronting,the dual object and the object deletion.When I classified the predicate-object structures,I found resumptive pronouns“?”“?”,which is the object fronting.I also found the dual object which expressing inquiry.That is the earliest example in the ancient Chinese.An d there is the dual object expressing fete,which is“V+O_?+O_?”residue of Oracle.The dominanted semantic relation of single-object in Guo Yu are dominance,accounting for66.8%.There are 19 dual objecs whose semantic relation is“V+O_?+O_?”,which is more than others pre-Qin period document.We select Zuo Zhuan,Lun Heng as the object of Synchronic and Diachronic compared.In this chapter,we compare the difference from every aspects.We found the authors of the two books are different.The time of completion of Guo Yu is later Zuo Zhuan.Guo Yu have rare examples which don't appear in other books.Guo Yu is the important link of grammaticalization.Study on Guo Yu has the research value of History of Chinese Language.
