Abstract noun is a relatively modern Chinese with the characteristics of the noun classes, in recent years, scholars research on the analysis, some results were obtained. In this paper, on the basis of the predecessors study, this paper define the standard themselves for an abstract noun, and on the basis of the statistics Zhang Shoukang, Lin Xingguang "modern Chinese content words collocation dictionary"(1992) of all abstract noun, conducted an investigation of the. During the study, the author based on the theory of three planes of syntax and noun valence theory, using statistical analysis, transform analysis, contrast analysis, methods of sememe analysis, studies the characteristics of the abstract noun and the noun collocation, clearly presented the abstract nouns syntactic semantic featurea. This article mainly includes the content:The first chapter is introduction. Introduce the general situation of the study of modern Chinese abstract noun, research value, research materials and methods.The second chapter describes the summary of abstract nouns in modern Chinese. First of all, from the meaning,form,function and cognitive four angles to defining the noun, among them, the term definition from the Angle of function is the mainstream view. Discusses major semantic characteristics:noun spatiality and alleged sexual.
