In recent years, a number of scholars began to study SI of television programs,but nobody has studied the SI of international music awards ceremony live on TV.Therefore, the author did a simulative SI practice of the55th Grammy Awards,analyzed the recording materials and took up some problems and their solutions andrecommendations.Theories and practices show that loss of informationng,misinterpreting and improper expressions are unavoidable, but the interpretation canbe improved by taking some make-up strategies to ensure the quality of the targetlanguage to achieve the purpose of passing information quickly and accurately.This paper is divided into five chapters: The first chapter introduces the task.The author briefly describes the important role of the Grammy Awards ceremony, itsprogram formats, process, attending guests and language style, etc. And she alsoanalyzes the purpose and significance of the practice. The second chapter introducesthe interpreting process. The process is divided into two parts, namely pre-interpreting and interpreting phases. The first phase includes the reserve ofbackground knowledge, choosing and developing interpreting tools, makinginterpreting plans and so on. The second phase includes the identification andimplementation of the interpretation. Quality control and evaluation is discussed inthe third chapter. In this chapter, the author first briefly describes the qualityassessment criteria of SI. Then the author combined her self-assessment andfeedback from the audience to undertake a comprehensive evaluation of the practice.The fourth chapter is case analysis. It is the central part of the report. First, the authorselects many representative cases of the SI practice, and then the cases are analyzedand summarized for the errors and shortcomings of this practice. Finally, the authorproposes to make up the policy recommendations based on the cases. The fifth chapter is the conclusion; the author summarizes the problems and solutions of thisstudy and points out the significance and need for improvement.
