The number of people who learn Chinese language has grown exponentiallythese days. One of the main causes is economic growth of China. The economicgrowth also has led the enhancing cultural exchange. In this trend, leaning Chineselanguage is not, any longer, only for those who study Chinese as a major or dobusiness in China. In fact, many people who just wants to experience Chinese cultureare also learning Chinese. However, many people are facing difficulty to learnChinese language because they are in short of time or do not have proper books tostudy by themselves. Some people are even dare to start studying it due to timeconstraint. Therefore, new approaches to making textbooks are required in order tomeet their demands.This paper is focused on developing textbooks that can help foreign learners,who are in need of time to study due to busy life today, study Chinese language byfully utilizing their idle times.In this thesis paper, precedent studies on current textbooks will be reviewed first.Also, new approaches to making self-study books will be guided after analyzingmany books that are published.Chapter I is the introduction of this thesis paper. It includes the subjects, theobjectives, and the meaning of the study. Also, it demonstrates research methods andconventional case studies.Chapter II. In this chapter, the fundamental rules of writing educational booksand self-study books will be explained. Also, new goals of self-study books will beproposed based on the fundamental rules, considering difference of general books and books that can help use idle times.Chapter â…¢. In this chapter, research on recent sales of self-study books in Koreawill be conducted. Also, the trends of online book market will be analyzed.Chapter IV. There will be new guideline for writing textbooks that can help idletimes based on the background of the theory and the results of analysis that wereexplained in the previous chapters.Finally, Chapter V is the conclusion of this thesis paper. The conclusion will bederived from all the studies in the previous chapters.
