Taking charge of school education and imperial examination, education administrators played a communicating role in the process of rulers’advocating education in Qing Dynasty and enlightening the culture of educators with great responsibility. By focusing on successive Shanxi administrators themselves in KYQ periods, their activities in the reign and historical influence, this thesis analyzes Shanxi administrative personnel changing characteristics and their activities’contributions to Shanxi. It consists of five parts. Firstly, combing research results about Qing Dynaty’s education administrators in the academics and organizing some information about them, the thesis points out research blank and analyses necessity and feasibility of wring it. Secondly, the thesis briefly discusses the history of Qing education administrators from its setting to cutting, masters the context of its system developing and changing as a whole and then analyses concrete situation of its setting and changing in Qing Dynasty based on this. Thirdly, the thesis analyses Shanxi education administrative personnel changing characteristics in KYQ periods in the form of listing from four respects, namely, native place, post, tenure and reasons for leaving. Successive Shanxi educationadministrators in these periods came from imperial scholar’sfamilies, three years as a term and mostly from Han in the provincesof Southern Areas, Zhejiang, Zhili, Shandong and so on. Originally,many of Shanxi education administrators were ministries’physicians and mainly became imperial guards’ managers in Kangand Qian Dynasties with the increasing reforming and perfecting ofits system and out of more attention on its educating function.Moreover, the thesis analyzes its contributions through its concretehistorical activities in Kang and Qian Dynasties. They earnestlyimplemented rulers’ educating policy of worshiping Confucianismand valuing Taoism and were actively engaged in the work ofconsolidating the culture of Shanxi educators and transformingsocial traditions. To correct the culture of educators, they sparedno efforts to carry on every kind of attempt. Rectify the atmosphereof imperial examination by fighting against fraud in the process of it;make proper culture of educators become an example of the publicby supervising the behavior of scholars; vitalize the style of allprefectures and departments by prohibiting bookshop printing andabridged classics, issuing books and so on; turn around localculture and rectify customs by honoring filial children and virtuouswidows, wisdoms and Confucians, loyal ministers and famouseunuchs from all over. This series of measures not only facilitatedthe development of Shanxi culture and education, but also realizedthe court’s goal of maintaining political rule and social stability byenlightening. Finally, assess comprehensively the Shanxi education administrator in KYQ periods.
