The October in1991, the Institute of Archaeology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences discovered a oracle bones and tortoise shells at Huayuan Village Locus East within the Yin Ruins, of which excavated are mostly intact and so especially valuable for Oracle Research.This paper takes the forms of Huadong Oracle characters as the study target. Following on this paper briefly introduces each chapter.The first chapter introduces the summarization of Huayuanzhuang Locus East within the Yin Ruins, especially presents the study on typeface of Huadong oracle bones. Simultaneously makes a brief description of the purpose and significance.The second chapter is to analyze the character forms of Huayuanzhuang Locus East within the Yin Ruins.1. Discusses the summarization of the survey of character forms as well as the theoretical basis of this paper. The forms includes the structure of a glyph and typeface, both of which we should analyze from static and dynamic aspects.2. In the analysis of static aspect, according to the basic structural units of Chinese ancient character as well as lines own characteristics, there will be differences in the forms.In addition, it exists the uncertainty of connections and combinations of the basic unit of Oracle’s words, also the words’direction, follows with the listing of some characters for illustration.3. In the analysis of dynamic aspect, we will analyze Huadong oracle comparing with the king oracle bone and other non-imperial oracle inscriptions. Furthermore,illustrating traditional and simplified of glyph, together with different writings of the same words by the way of listing of some characters.The third chapter is conclusion of the study on bones and tortoise shells unearthed east of the Huayuan Village.
