The Study On The Inscription On Bones And Tortoise Shells Of Luo Zhenyu

Luo Zhenyu,the founder of the research of the inscriptions on the bones and tortoise shells of the Shang Dynasty from 16~th to 11~th century B.C.,had played an important role on the collecting and compiling the bones and tortoise shells,checking the inscriptions and studying the history of the Shang Dynasty basing on these materials.His research was on the first class,so we can get correct directions and make great progress on the Oracle Inscriptions research if we can deeply study his research methods,absorbing his practical and realistic style of research,recognizing his achievement and deficiency,and so on.This paper consists of five chapters.In the first chapter,I mainly introduce the value and the significance of this study,the present conditions on this problem and the career and Luo Zhenyu's main achievement.In the second chapter,this paper comprehensively narrates his successes on the Oracle Inscriptions research.The third and the forth chapter are the most important sections in which I wholly study his accomplishment on the checking the Oracle Inscriptions through my correcting the Chinese Characters in the Oracle Inscriptions ascertained by him in his two works—YINSHANG ZHENBU WENZI KAO and YINXU SHUQI KAOSHI.At last,the paper has summarized the achievements of Luo Zhenyu's research on the Oracle Inscriptions,and maked just and objective evaluation on Luo Zhenyu considering the right times.
