Picture books, a series of pictures with corresponding text, are the main material in early reading for the children. It’s an important part of children’s literature, which with unique educational value of visual development and language development of children. In recent years, as the increasing popularity of the picture book market, the experts and scholars pay more attention and research to the picture books. The number of translated picture books accounted for90%of the market, the introduction of the translation of foreign domestic outstanding picture books work in full swing. Behind this phenomenon, translation quality of picture books for children is unevenness, children’s picture books of translation studies is relatively backward. This paper mainly research on children’s language translation, aims to examine children’s picture books’language using problems during the translation work.In this paper, the main object of the study is the language using in the translation Chinese children’s picture books. And the study is carried out on the basis of three small children’s picture books corpora---translational Chinese children’s picture books corpus, original Chinese children’s picture books corpus and English classic children’s picture books corpus. Comparing with the original Chinese children’s picture books corpus and English classic children’s picture books corpus, the author tries to find lexical and syntactic features of the translational Chinese children’s picture books. On this basis, the paper summarizes the characteristics of the language using in the translation Chinese children’s picture books. This study finds that the FYYLC shows a lower lexical density, and simplification is reflected on the use of content words. The frequency of the nouns、the verbs and adjectives in the FYYLC are lower than CTYLC, plant of the words in the FYYLC is the commonly used, and most of them are monosyllabic or disyllabic words, other forms like, multi-syllable are rarely used. The absence of the phrase or idiom in FYYLC is a problem about cultural translation. In the study of the use of the content words, we find that the frequency of the person pronouns in the FYYLC make the translation language wordiness and ambiguousness, which indicates the tendency of Europeanization on the lexical level. What’s more, it is opposed to the language feature of the children’s reading and understanding level. This paper also find the feature of the use of function words in FYYLC, closely linked to the characteristics of English, we find a high proportion of function words in the FYYLC, the data of it is much higher than the CTYLC. The studies of the use of functions words focus on the conjunction words, the frequency of it is much lower than the EYYLC, but compared with the CTYLC, the frequency of the conjunction words is the higher one. Meanwhile, the average sentence of the FYYLC is longer than CTYLC, on the studies of syntactic feature, we also find the high frequency of the auxiliary word "的" led to the emergence of the phenomenon of long-attributive. The flag of passive sentence such as "被"、"让" have a high frequency in the FYYLC, that indicates the translate work showing a tendency of mechanized. Above the studies of the lexical and syntactic level, we make the conclusion that the language used in FYYLC are simplify and shows the tendency of Europeanization, that’s not conducive to children’s mother tongue learning and the development of reading ability in the future.
