After new China was founded, the communist party of China launched a movement of land reform on a grand and spectacular scale all over the country. The recovery of economy, the emancipation of productivity and the return of peasants’land are all attributed to the movement. At the same time, it made a significant influence for a group of intellectuals especially the first new Confucianist who still stayed in Chinese mainland such as Feng Youlan Liang Shuming and He Lin, which changed their minds seen as turning point. Because the former academic works that researched how the movement of land reform influences the intellectuals’minds seldom focused on the first generation of New Confucianist, this article based on the previous academic achievements perfects the study, expecting to be a useful work for reference.I wrote this article by an order of introduction—elucidation—conclusion. Basing on the intellectuals’ works and relevant articles for reference, the writer analyzed how the movement of land reform changes intellectuals especially new Confucianist with the emphasis of their ideological change, trying to show the relation between the movement of land reform and changes of new Confucianist. At the beginning of the founding of new China, many intellectuals’ views didn’t coincide with the policy of Chinese Communist Party. So the government let intellectuals take active part in land reform, expecting to change their minds, achieve their acceptance and promote the development of land reform through this practice. As a part of intellectuals, the first generation of new Confucianist, such as Feng Youlan, Liang Shuming, He Lin participated in land reform in different ways. They all published essays to express the significance of the movement. This article respectively evaluated the typical examples of New Confucianist:Feng Youlan,Liang Shuming and He Lin, telling their experience during the movement of land reform, discussing the influence of the movement to their minds and to study the difference between the before and after. From their works, their attitude to Marxism changed a lot in this period.
