The Effects Of Different Types Of Cigarette Warnings On Smoking Behavior Of Adolescents

Cigarette package warnings is inevitable when people are exposed to cigarette smoking cessation materials, which is important to people to quit smoking. In this study, We adopts the method of E-prime to study the effects of different types of cigarette warnings on smoking behavior of adolescents. And also to research of the effect among the smoking duration、 smoking severity and smoking target.This study investigated139adolescents come from three different grades for different types of cigarette warnings of experimental study. Experiment using2x2x2three factors mixed design of experiment, including smoking duration (long-term and short-term), smoking severity (stronger and weaker) and target (health and others), the first two is the tests of within-subjects effects, and the last is the tests of between-subjects effects.The experimental results show that:(1)When the smoking duration lead to the endanger, adolescents were more sensitive to messages in long-term condition. When the smoking severity lead to the endanger, adolescents were more sensitive to messages in stronger condition. (2) In the freshmen group, there is a significant interaction effect on smoking duration by smoking severity. And there is a simple main effects on stronger condition and long-term condition. The results show that adolescents were more sensitive to messages that involved stronger severity in the long-term condition.(3)Boys are more sensitive and more rapid response than girls when reading the different warnings on cigarette; In the group of freshman, adolescent who have smoking parents are more sensitive to warnings; Meanwhile, the subjects of same group were regular smokers are also more sensitive to cigarette warnings of information..
