In this thesis,219words are collected from five kinds of exvacated warring states bamboo strip manuscripts from the Chu region which include Baoshan, Wangshan, Xinyang, Zenghouyi, Yangtianhu and they are further classified into three categories:textile, clothing and ornament. Then the characteristics of the lexical will be described and finally the cultural phenomenon of Chu region which is reflected by the characteristics of the lexical will be revealed. The characteristics of the lexical include four points. First, the font of exvacated warring states bamboo strip manuscripts from the Chu region shows distinct regional features. Second, the amount of disyllabic words is more than monosyllabic words and subordinate compounds are the main constructive in disyllabic words.Third, the words mostly have only one meaning. Fourth, three semantic fields shows some hierarchical nature and systemic. The cultural phenomenon of Chu region reflected by the characteristics of the word include four points:First, the uniqueness of the font reflects the uniqueness of chu culture. Second, the first characteristic of the word reflects that textile, clothing and ornament in Chu region are rich and colourful. Third, the silk weaving industry of Chu have developed to a relatively high level in warring states period. It reflects that the kinds of silk fabric are various and the weaving technology is advanced. What’s more, the fact that the staining technique is mature and the color of silk fabric is rich has been showed. Fourth, the ornament are widely used and it shows that Chu people have owned aesthetic consciousness.
