With the rapid developement of the society and the economy, the state had invested enormous labor, fund and facilities into the welfare service. The material life of orphans/disabled children is improved, yet due to factors such as their physical defects and lack of parental care, they suffered, physically and psychologically, a huge pressure that is beyond the imagination of an ordinary person. Thus, a close attention shall be paid from us to the aspects of the physical compensation, spiritual needs, psychological needs as well as the characteristic developement etc. Of the orphans/disabled children. As to those children, normal teaching methods cannot fully meet their needs, while the Orff music treatment is full of human-oriented thought which respects every child and believe they are all able to experience, and thereby obtain a healthy physical/psychological developement. For the orphans/disabled children, the Orff music treatment undoubtedly provided a liberal and relaxed environment that asks for no musical skills. Therefore, the Orff music treatment is an effective way of teaching that worth being promoted among the education of orphans/disabled children.In our country, so far, the research in the Orff music treatment to orphans/disabled children is still undeveloped. The present paper makes an attempt to combine the significance of both the education&improvement and the rehabilitation&compensation of orphans/disabled children, an Orff music treatment intervention solution is designed and directed to orphans/disabled children of different defects, and a music treatment that is applicable to orphans/disabled children of a welfare house is explored preliminarily. This study is a novel attempt both in terms of the idea of designing and the angle of observing, which has not only expanded the applicable scope of music treatment, but also enriched the field of study of music treatment.The present paper is based on document and material study, which has conducted both theoretical as well as practical analysis on the collected documents and materials. The research has employed empirical and case study, and based on the principles and methodologies of Orff music therapeutics, proposed an idea and a framework for Orff music treatment. Also, the research has adopted qualitative research method and, according to the associated phenomenal variation observed, recorded and measured, determined the cause-and-effect relationship between the conditions and the phenomenons, so as to conduct a thorough analysis and diagnosis to the issue of a case. In the present study, four representitive orphans/disabled children are selected to be the object of the study,an Orff music treatment solution is designed according to their psychological and physical characteristics, through a therapic form combining in group and in individual and according to the principle and methodology of Orff music therapy, an intervention treatment is conducted on the social adaptive behaviors such as interpersonal relationship, physical coordination and attention etc. so as to improve the physical and psychological weaknesses of them, increase their ablility in appreciating the music, and compensate their defects in physiology and social adaptability.The results of the experiment suggest that the Orff music therapy has a distinctive effect in rehabilitating the psychological and physical functions and compensating the defective adaptive behavior of the orphans/disabled children. According to the results of the study, it is suggested, on the music therapy to the orphans/disabled children, that: we should arrange diversified and interesting music activities based on their characteristics of behavior, and improve the related facilities. Also, the paper reviewed the selection of objects, the process of experiment and the application of the study so as to provide information for the Orff music therapy to orphans/disabled children and, at the sametime, to provide empirical evidence for intervention theory.The paper is composed of five parts:the first part is an introduction, which presents the origin of the study, analyzes the trends and status quo home and abroad, explains the purpose, significance and creativity of this intervention study, and establishes a theoretical base for the feasibility of implementing this study; the part two is a background of the study, which outlines the Orff therapy to orphans/disabled children, clarifies the definition of the orphans/disabled children and Orff music treatment, explains the feasibility of the affect from Orff music treatyment to orphans/disabled children, and builds up the theoretical basis for carrying out the case study; the third part is formulated according to the physical/psychological characteristics of the four orphans/disabled children; the fourth part is a summary of the practice, which describes the process of the intervention study in the case, analyzes, concludes the results, reviews the study, and proposes an outlook; and the fifth part is an epilogue which summarizes the entire paper.
