The opera "Don Pasquale" is the Italy composer Donitzetti’s last comic opera. Different from previous works whose theme is tragic love, this work can be said a love farce. The opera was full of vitality, enthusiasm and joy. And "Quel guardo" can be honored as the most wonderful aria in the opera."Quel guardo" is the first aria sung by the opera actress Norina after she enters the stage. This part not only fully expresses Norina’s yearning for love and loyalty to love but also shows her lovely, cute, and confident personality.Based on the script analysis and basic understanding of the composer’s life experience and creative background, this thesis gives a detailed analysis of the musical characteristics of "Quel guardo", character traits and mood changes of Norina. Combined with the author’s own singing experience, this thesis elaborates the singing skills of aria from the following aspects:(1) an overview of the opera "Don Pasquale"(2) the music analysis of the aria "Quel guardo"(3) the singing analysis of the aria "Quel guardo".
