On E-C Translation Of English Impersonal Subject Sentences For Construction Engineering

With the development of the strategy of the open-door to the outside world, we are cooperating with other countries in the engineering projects constantly. In the situation, English as a common language in the world is a major media while translation of construction engineering is playing a more and more important role because of the rapid development of construction engineering. However, there are great differences between English and Chinese construction engineering. English is prone to use the impersonal subject sentences while Chinese is prone to use personal subject. Impersonal subject sentences of English used in construction engineering can present the features objectively. In construction engineering English, the impersonal subject sentences can often be presented with material noun and passive form, while the personal subject sentences can often be presented with positive form in construction engineering Chinese.Moreover, there are many researches about the impersonal subject sentences of English, but there are few researches about the impersonal subject sentences in connection with construction engineering English. Therefore, the author will take materials of municipal buildings in Kuwait as example to discuss and analyze translation strategies to translate construction engineering from English into Chinese. At the same time, the thesis analyzes the reason why construction engineering English is prone to use impersonal subject sentences and difficulties in the process of translation. The thesis analyzes in detail strategies of impersonal subject sentences of construction engineering English such as translation conversion, translation in original order, division, translation in reverse order. The purpose of this thesis is trying to provide some help for translators to know about construction engineering English and the translation for the impersonal subject sentences of construction engineering English.
