Transition From Reformer To Local Despot

Under the background of rural reform and market economy, charismatic village cadre become writers’beloved. There is no doubt that this kind of people have been the images which can not be ignored in rural grass-root authority narratives. In the vast rural areas, the village cadres are the authorities who have the closest connection with the peasants. During the process of leading the villagers out of poverty, they show their extraordinary charisma. Taking this kind of people as the breakthrough point, this thesis tries to uncover the village cadres’alienation corrupted by money and power and the underclass’s silence by investigating this kind of people’s extraordinary leadership and the process of how they build their rural kingdom with their charisma. And then through analyzing and reflecting on the appearance of "peasantry empire", this thesis strives to get a new enlightenment about Chinese peasants which includes the new cognition about the survival condition of "the new countryside" and " the rural reformer" and about the deep exposure of contemporary social relations and social contradictions.Except the introduction and peroration, this thesis includes four section. The introduction mainly describes village cadres’position in rural grass-root authority narratives and this image’s contemporary and realistic significance and explains why this thesis treats charismatic village cadres as its main research object. At last it summarizes the related research of rural grass-root authority narratives and puts forward the research mentality and framework.The first section mainly sorts out the characteristic and development track of "Charisma" and points out the standpoint of this thesis. It analyzes the contemporary research situation and embodiment in literature of "Charisma". The developmental and contemporary feature of peasant Charisma which are also refer to in this section.The second section takes "The door of the sheep" written by Li Peifu and ’Peasantry Empire" written by Jiang Zilong as examples to research the embodiment of Charisma and to analyze the relationships among the frame of Charisma, his followers and coagents and to find out the hotbed for the rural charisma to build his empire dream.The third section uncovers the process of rural charisma using his own advantage and peasants’national deep-rooted bad habits to build his peasantry empire during routinization; this section also concludes that the rural charisma empire dream will collapse inevitably through sorting out the the humanity which is alienated by the desire of power and the final disorder of influence mechanism.The fourth part focuses on the writers’contradictory attitude of both exposing peasant Charisma and yearning peasant Charisma and the reason why writers are keen on creating this kind of images. In this section the reason why the empire could be built also get a profound research and reflection.The peroration gives some suggestions for the reform of rural grass-root authority system.
