Accurate translation of scientific and technological terminologies would not be possible without using the standardized or universally accepted terminologies in the target language. To guarantee the accuracy of the translation, the translator needs to do his/her utmost to consult various references for comparison and judgment. The thesis of this Author with a limited knowledge about green building is actually an attempt to summarize her personal procedure of translating into English Chinese terminologies in the area of green building, which are retrieved from the typical terminologies in the five cases from the Casebook of the Newest Green Building in China, which this Author has translated as a project for a degree thesis. According to a term-concept relation, the thesis tries to elaborate on how to translate in different contexts "one-to-many" single-terms and their derivative phrase-terms, and how to translate "one-to-one" terms while confirming their correctness through consultation. Finally, based on these cases for the entire translation procedure of terminologies, the thesis prepares pre-translation reference materials for translators not specialized in green building, consulting methods for translation, and reliable web addresses, books and papers accessible in the translating course.
