Yan culture andZhongshan culture, as important parts of "Yanzhao culture", have much in commonand significant differences. This paper compares the similarities and differences ofthe two cultures, mainly from the three aspects of capital, currency and funeralcustom.First of all, a key content of this paper is the comparison between the twocapitals. The two capitals both migrate because of political reasons, while accordingto their own actual conditions; the two capitals are different in shape and locationprinciple. In addition, the biggest difference between the two capitals in the divisionof regional function is that the Lingshou City has business district, while people hasno found in Xiadu currently. Finally, they built the city’s defense facilities.Secondly, the comparison of currency is the important aspects of culturaldifferences. The two countries are knife cloth parallel, but the currency in circulationis different, because of the differences in national factors. At the same time, the Yanand Zhongshan’s currency both contain their casting currency, foreign currency andimitating cast currency, but the domestic currency in domestic circulation position canbe quite different--foreign currency in Zhongshan occupied the dominant position.Finally, funeral custom is also a part of cultural comparison. This paper isdivided into three periods to compare the tombs and funerary objects of Yan andZhongshan. For example, stone tomb in Zhongshan with the passage of time showed adecreasing trend, while there were many earthen seaft tombs in Yan. In the funeraryobjects, the same level of tombs, Zhongshan’s funerary objects were more than thoseof Yan. This paper especially analyzes the buried type of both countries in the end. Ina word, there are great differences between the two countries in these three aspects.
