The development of China’s photography in the liberation of a long period of time, are ina very weak stage. Based on the research of the photography and the western culture andtechnology, we deeply feel that, different culture, different values, the differences between thedifferent social form, etc, and more profoundly realize that the development of Chinese folkphotography urgently needs us to give more concern and attention.Slow development of Chinese folk photography, form a formal system of time isrelatively late. The beginning of the20th century, many photographers began to folk cultureactivities, but did not form the concept of "folk photography". Along with the rapiddevelopment of economy and trade, cultural exchanges are increasingly active. China’s silkroad culture, national culture, architectural culture, folk art, folk craft, etc., is increasinglyattracting the attention of people all over the world. People realized that, our country is power,folk custom resources are everywhere, limitless reserve of folk custom resources, theseresources and its important historical and cultural value.Folk photography is about folklore study of photography and photographic art show, is anewly emerging photography categories. Folklore is a specialized study of folklore, as a kindof social ideology, it is an independent self-contained humanities.This article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is introduction, mainly discuss the research background, researchpurpose and research method, etc.The second chapter is the development history of Chinese folk photography, includingthe definition and classification of folk photography, the definition and classification of folkcustom photography, early Chinese folklore photographers, the establishment anddevelopment of Chinese folk photography.The third chapter is the meaning of the Chinese folk photography, including folk customand folklore, folk photography and human life, the relationship between Chinese folkphotography and non-material cultural heritage, folk culture of photography.The fourth chapter is the art of Chinese folk photography features, including thedifference between the folk photography and other photography, photographing the method offolk customs. The fifth chapter conclusion.
