In the modern society, trust crisis has become an unavoidable problem. Many studies have found that different repair strategies such as an apology, compensation, deny have different influence on trust recovery. However, the restoration of trust is not only dependence on the repair strategies but also dependence on characteristics of the trustors. But it is still remain weak researches on the characteristics of the trustors. This study investigated how the individual differences influence on trust recovery based on the interpersonal self-support. Preliminary questionnaire survey showed that initiative, interpersonal interpersonal flexibility and interpersonal responsibility can significantly predict the initial trust, yet whether these interpersonal self-supporting traits could also predict trust recovery, which is worth to further explore. This research based on the traditional culture of Chinese interpersonal self-supporting traits to explore which interpersonal self-supporting traits is related to the trust recovery, then the psychological mechanism was further explored in this study, namely the interpersonal self-supporting traits how to affect trust recovery. To study how interpersonal self-supporting traits influence the trust recovery, the pre-experiment was conducted to explore which interpersonal self-supporting traits can positively predict trust recovery level. Then two experiments based on the pre experiment results is conducted and the results of this study are as follows:(1)Among the five interpersonal self-supporting traits, only the interpersonal responsibility could positively predict the trust recovery. But we find that the interpersonal initiative and interpersonal flexibility did not influence trust recovery.(2)Interpersonal responsibility and relationship common influence the trust recovery level. The pre experimental results showed that the individual of interpersonal responsibility predict the trust recovery for strangers, yet, the effect whether still exists in the familiar people group? In the experiment1the trust game task was used to explore if interpersonal responsibility predict the trust recovery moderated by the relationship. Study1shows that, in the familiar group, high and low interpersonal responsibility group have no significance trust recovery, however, in the stranger group, high interpersonal responsibility group showed much more trust than the low one. This result demonstrated that interpersonal responsibility whether the high or low one have positive cognitive bias for familiar according to past positive experience rather than the current violation. For the strangers, high interpersonal responsibility individuals showed faith and trustor others, while low interpersonal responsibility showed the opposite attitudes to others. So in stranger group, high and low interpersonal responsibility individuals showed obvious difference of trust.(3) Experiment1showed that only in the stranger group, the high and low interpersonal responsibility has different effect on the trust recovery. Experiment2aim at exploring how the interpersonal responsibility predicts the trust recovery for strangers. We guess the positive cognitive bias maybe the main reason for predicting trust recovery in stranger group, so in this experiment, we addition a cognitive assess question and found that interpersonal responsibility predicted the trust recovery through the attitude of positive benevolent intention. The conclusion as follows:(1) Interpersonal responsibility could positively predict the trust recovery;(2) Interpersonal responsibility predict the trust recovery moderated by the relationship;(3) interpersonal responsibility predicted the trust recovery for strangers through the attitude of positive benevolent intention.
