Computer Aided Translation tools are widely applied to the translation in modern times, which can not only improve the work efficiency of the translators but also ensure the high quality of the translations, gaining popularity among the translators. Wherein, term management, as the most important part of computer Aided Translation tools, is not inherently equipped. The construction of term base requires translators to add it to the tools themselves for future use. Thus, the term extraction technology is drawing more and more attention from the translators in recent years. Term extraction tool which can be more efficient to extract terms is significant to the construction quality of term base and the translation efficiency of Computer Aided Translation tools. To solve this problem, this paper compares the term extraction efficiency of three automatic term extraction tools-Multi-Extract, TerMine and ExtPhr32, regarding the English version of Torremolinos International Convention for the Safety of Fishing Vessels,1977the Parties to the Convention as the basic corpus, precision rate and recall rate as the parameter,. Meanwhile, this paper compares the extraction efficiency of three tools in extracting different lengths and frequencies of terms, and analyzes the features of each tool in terms of missing terms. The test result shows that the overall term extraction efficiency of Multi-Extract ranks first, ExtPhr32wins the second place, and TerMine stands in the last position among three term extraction tools. However, the ranking would change when concerning different lengths and frequencies of terms. The test result will provide a useful guidance for enhancing term extraction efficiency and make great contribution to continuously improving the work efficiency of Computer Aided Translation tools.
