The Early Middle Ages is the birth of Western European civilization. Aftercenturies of barbarization and feudalization, an unstable "Christian-Germanic world"had formed in Western Europe, Christian and secular imperial power of the mainlandeach shared a portion of power in cooperation with the struggle. However, as the twodecisive forces on the stage of Medieval history, the two sides have contradictions inthe establishment of the political and social order, i.e."Christian-Germanic world" isa transitional order system which was filled with immature and unstable factors.During the11-13th century, the increasingly fierce contradiction in integrating, establishing and developing Western European Order System has evolved into astruggle between the Emperor and the Pope that lasted about two hundred and fiftyyears, which changed the Medieval Western European order system. The Clunymovement influenced the process dramatically. The Cluny movement was formed under the background of complication andvulgarization between the church and the secular world during the Middle Ages. Theinitial purpose of the movement is to change the trend of the church’s secularizing andvulgarizing. However, during the development of the process, with the enhancementof the influence by Cluny and the advantage in the struggle to the secular monarchy, the movement had played an increasing important role in the shape of the Medievalorder system. The movement is not only famous for by reforming and improving thesystem of the monastery, restoring the rule of the Rule of St. Benedict, but alsoinvolved in secular affairs through religion and politics. The movement resolved thecontradiction that involved in the religious right and the secular monarchy, the HolySee and the local church, and adjusted the political structure of the Middle Ages, themovement even more remarkable, exerted tremendous impact on the form of WesternEuropean society organizations. The movement established the papal polity, rose thepower of the pope, and created a strong socio-religious atmosphere, so that the HighMedieval Western Europe has developed unique social characteristics. Since thepromotion of Cluny movement, to the reign of Pope Innocent III, Pope’s right hadreached the pinnacle of history, Western Europe had already become a society of Christian Republic based on the authority of the pope. The movement had created theorder of Christian Republican which had lasted nearly four centuries, the relationswith the religious right and secular power rights had developed to a new stage. Theorder of Christian Republican is not an accidental result of the struggle between thereligious right and the secular monarchy, it is not only in line with the framework ofWestern European civilization but also a manifestation of the characteristics ofWestern European civilization. To reduce redundancy,"Christianity" in the article refers to the Latin Christianityin the section after the alienation of Eastern and Western churches, while also refers toCatholicism in the section after the Great Schism.
