Dabaodang Graveyard is located in Yellow River basin in Northern ShanxiProvince. It is adjacent to the Yellow River in Shanxi Province in the East, to NingxiaProvince and Gansu Province in the West, and to Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regionin the Northern side. It is the joint of the Central Plains and the area where theminority groups live in, and of the agricultural culture and nomadic culture. Basedupon the published anthropology materials on this graveyard, this article re-analysesand does research on the skull data of the ancient inhabitant in Dabaodang area. Thisarticle adopts the statistics methodology in connection with the existingacknowledgement of archeology research in analyzing the construction of the race ofthe inhabitant in detail.This topic is addressed in seven chapters:Chapter One: IntroductionThis chapter firstly addresses the geographical feature of the DabaodangGraveyard in brief. It then goes on to summarize the background of archeologicalresearch over the said graveyard, outlining the purpose and significance of thisdissertation.Chapter Two: Examination of the Purity of RaceThis Chapter adopts different means in examining the purity of race inDabaodang Graveyard according to the skull data. The result reveals that the ancientinhabitants belongs to the same race.Chapter Three: Preliminary analysis of the type of raceThrough contrasting the skull data from Dabaodang Graveyard with the currentrace, it reveals that the race of ancient inhabitants in Dabaodang Graveyard belongs tothe Mongolia. By further comparing it with the four sub-type within the Mongoliagroup, it shares most common features with the East Asian type. Nevertheless, itcarries some features from NorthernAsian type as well.Chapter Four: Comparing research with Neolithic GroupsThrough various types of mathematic and statistic methodologies in comparing the samples from Dabaodang Graveyard with Neolithic ancients in term of theiraffiliation, it appears to be most similar to Miaodigou Group, and then DawenkouGroup. It has no significant similarity with other groups from Neolithic ancients.Chapter Five: Comparing research with Bronze Age and early-Iron Age GroupsThrough various types of mathematic and statistic methodologies in comparingthe samples from Dabaodang Graveyard with groups from Bronze Age and early-IronAge in terms of their affiliation, it appears to be most similar to LinggouzhanguoGroup and Shangma Group, and then Baimiao II Group, Sanjiaocheng Group andYinxu Mid-small Graveyard III Group, while it has least similarity with XiajiadianUpper-layer Group.Chapter Six: Discussion on correlation issues of Dabaodang GraveyardThis chapter gives an integrated research and discussion on the s of ancientinhabitants from Dabaodang Graveyard based upon the progress of Archeology,History, Anthropology and other relevant subjects.Chapter Seven: ConclusionThis chapter summarizes the dissertation and draws a conclusion for the researchcarried out for this dissertation.
