In this paper,88 cases of human bone come from a graveyard of XIZHOU Dynasty,in the village of Xinancheng,Zhangzi Country,Shanxi Province.This graveyard may be an aristocratic cemetery which belongs to an unknown nation whose surname is the royal JI.The cemetery was excavated by the Shanxi Provincial Institute of Archeology from 2012 to 2015.Material preservation is not ideal,the prevalence of cranial bone without deposit,long bone fracture,pelvic damage,etc.,only 11 cases(male 8 female 3)are saved.Then,multidisciplinary approaches are used for the research,including human skeletal measurement,demography,biostatistics,ancient ethnography,ancient pathology and other disciplines.As follows are the main contents.First,we briefly introduce the geography and archaeological background of the cemetery,and expound the research status of the subject,the research methods and research purpose of this paper.The second chapter makes a statistical study and comparative analysis of the sex ratio,death pattern and life expectancy of the human bone by the method of demography.In the third chapter,the craniofacial features of human bone are classified by statistical method.The fourth chapter uses the method of biostatistics and ancient ethnography to compare the physical characteristics of these human bones and the genetic relationship between the bones and the residents of different regions in the pre-Qin period.The fifth chapter makes a speculative analysis and comparative study on the height development and the stout of the limbs by means of anthropometry.Chapter 6 uses the method of ancient pathology to observe and analyze the common pathological phenomena of these human bone materials.Chapter 7 summarizes the full text and provides a simple analysis to the cemetery.The final schedules and pictures show the measured data and intuitive features of the skull of these materials.Jinnan area is the a forward position that XIZHOU Dynasty expand to Kanto area,also the focus area which whose research is the enfeoffment system of XIZHOU Dynasty.This study provides a reference for the study of the physical characteristics of the cemetery population,but also provides a reference for studying the physical characteristics of the residents of the Central Plains during pre-Qin period,and also provides an important reference for the history of XIZHOU Dynasty in Jinnan area.
