Discussion On Guan Shanyue’s Landscape Painting Features In The Decade After The Cultural Revolution(1977——1987)

Mr. Guan Shanyue is the second-generation descendant of "Lingnan School of Painter", who actively practices Gao Jianfu’s artistic subject that is "making a compromise between Chinese and Western culture and building a blend of ancient and modern art." Mr. Guan has never stopped worked in his whole life, who has created works of art with historical background and artistic characteristics, especially the Landscape Painting.And he presents an artistic creation proposition of "intended before the pen while the ink with the times." The thesis will discuss the landscape painting features of Guan Shanyue in the decade after the Cultural Revolution, which is divided into two chapters. The first chapter is an overview of Guan Shanyue’s landscape painting features, which contains three stages of "the reality before the Cultural Revolution, The implication during the Cultural Revolution and the bold in the decade after the Cultural Revolution",and it focuses on the last stage. The second chapter is about the landscape painting features in comparison between Guan Shanyue and other artists in the decade after the Cultural Revolution. Through the method of comparison to get some new enlightenments on the works’ artistic language of Li Xiongcai, Li Keran and Fu Baoshi. The last part empathizes on the value of impact and significance of Guan Shanyue’s landscape painting in the decade after the Cultural Revolution.
