The Role Of Local Government In Conservation And Revitalization Of Rural Temple Culture

As an important part of traditional culture, temples make up historical context of Chinese civilization with endless national and local history, genealogy, etc. In the1980s, with the end of the collectivization of agriculture and the development of economic, clans are active again in the rural. Some clans began looking for recognitionthrough the rehabilitation of graves, ancestral, genealogy. It cannot be discountedthat the impact on the social order and the identity and cohesion of the temple culture.The launching of conservation and revitalization of rural temple culture has practical significance. This paper takes the temples in Jinhua as a case. With the historical evolution of the temples in Jinhua, this paper analyses social activities in various historical periods, the role of social management and social impact, etc. Then the paper analyses the present situation and problems existing in temples and temple culture in Jinhua. According to the local government’s role in conservation and revitalization of rural temple culture, this paper proposes some exploratory countermeasures and suggestions.This paper is divided into three parts. The first part introduces and analyzes the background and significance of this paper and summarizes and evaluates the research results at home and abroad, then defines the related concepts appeared in the paper, and finally proposes the paper’s theoretical basis after combining with Movement of Hong Kong Heritage Conservation. The second part is the spotlight of the article. In this part, the author analyses the general situation, present situation and problems of the temples in Jinhua, and explains the relationship between the historical evolution of temples in Jinhua and the social change, and summarizes the temple culture’s role in social management and the present situation and the government problems of the conservation and activation of rural temple culture in Jinhua. In the third part, the paper offers suggestions. Based on the above-mentioned points, this part streamlines the role of government in the conservation and revitalization of rural temple culture under the Movement of Hong Kong Heritage Conservation and government functions.This paper draw conclusions that there are some government problems in the conservation and revitalization of rural temple culture by literature review, comparative methods and methods for a long period of time on research. These issues include local government, clan members, personal protection awareness of temple cultural and protection funding and so on. Then the author suggests that we should build the temple cultural conservation and revitalization security system. In the protection system, the local government should play a leading role and focus on the formulation of related protecting regulations of temple culture so as to strengthen the position of clans and their members in the protection and revitalization of temple culture, main clans and their members become the organizer, builder and administrator of the protection and revitalization system of temple culture, and the protector of temple’s cultural resources.The system consists of government guidanceand social participation, combines the conservation and revitalization of the temples cultural with the rural people’s livelihood and rural cultural construction. It merges traditional family ancestral ritual and the Core teachings of our forefather’s family rules with advanced culture, and unites the identity of personal and family and theidentity ofregional culture, and makes temples to be the coordinates of rural spirit and culture,and thenreconstruct the order of rural culture, and build a common spiritual home.Paper writingcoincides with theconstruction of the culturalhall in rural of Zhejiang province in early2013.In the construction of the cultural hall, many villages repair the temples and rebuild into cultural hall. In this way, culture can be the spiritual sustenance of the people in deed, and can build the spiritual home of the peasant.It creates a new path for the activation of the temple culture actually.
