Study on the relationship between audience and actors contains two dimensions: one is the structure of the performance place; the other is the aesthetic relationship between actors and audience, regardless of theatre or therapeutic space. Dramatherapists often draw on biographical performance or self-revelatory performance to facilitate individual and group change. Based on the role-model of dramatherapy, this paper discusses the concept of witnessing and relational issues, explores how it affects the performance and therapeutic effect. This paper consists of three parts:introduction, body, and conclusion. The introduction part briefly introduces the research current situation, research purpose and research method of this topic. The body is divided into three chapters:The first chapter makes interpretation of the theory of relational aesthetics. Rethink the relationship between doctors and patients, actors and audience. By the contrast analysis of spatial structure form of theatre, membership and performance session, illustrate the similarities and differences of audience-actors relationship between two spaces.The second chapter articulates different cognitional structure of theatre and therapeutic space, within the sphere of communication theory and frame analysis. Through the consideration of role-playing and body language during the enactment, we can explore the issues of self identity and witness during the establishment of group relational network.The third chapter focuses on the individual case of psychodrama and introduces three sessions involved in:warm up, enactment and closure. It reveals the reversibility of many roles in therapeutic performance and important function of audience-actors relationship in dramatherapy.Summary gives the conclusion of this paper.
