Female artists were confined to themselves and the limitation of the current era in Chinese history. But in the painting system of Ming dynasty, female artists appeared in the literati’s writings and poetry in Ming and Qing dynasty, who recoded these female artists’talent and emotion. Many collectors have collect their work.In Yu Tai painting history which was written by Tang Yushu, female artists in past dynasties were composed in particular, and there were altogether223in her work. Among it, female artists in Ming dynasty takes up a high quantity, in which Boudoir painters have64to whom the author have made a study. This number is rather impressive. Moreover, these Boudoir painters have flowers and birds be their main creating material, which have a close connection with their living environment, artistic atmosphere and their contacted things and there are many left works related to flowers and birds. These works reflect their outstanding talent and emotion. In their own world, they construct "secret garden" which has a close connection with their soul. Boudoir painters won’t be worthless just because of lacking the "morale" literati’s advocated. On the contrary, these "Boudoir sense" and "cosmetic sense" intensify the conceptsbetween male and female in the paintings."softness" and"gentleness" which reflect in Boudoir paintings make them morelively and interesting. What is more? They choose vegetables and fruitdirectly when choosing materials, which can reflect their focus andenthusiasm to life directly. It has special and progressive meaning.Meanwhile, Boudoir artists also copy the ancient paintings duringtheir creating paintings referring to birds and flowers and they havedifferent styles according to different teachers. Not only is "boudoirfeelings" presented, but also the "morale" beauty is expressed. Theyare very valuable excellent creative works. The complexity of politics,and cultural systems in Ming dynasty also make a contribution to thecomplexity of boudoir bird and flower painting.These bird and flower paintings are also last in Qing dynasty,which has an influential meaning. They are also represented in themodern female artists with more obvious and complete effect.Boudoir bird and flower paintings interpret their unique glamour inthe process which is hidden and obvious.
