The Study Of Culture Construction In The Northwestern Shanxi Anti-japanese Base Area

Culture construction is very important in various construction ofthe north-western Shanxi Anti-Japanese base area. By conductingcultural movement, People’s passion of resistance against Japan isinspired, the national consciousness and political consciousness ofthe masses is enhanced, and the cultural level of the masses isimproved. All of this made great contribution to the victory of the warresisting against Japanese aggression and it laid a solid foundationfor the future construction and development of the new-democraticculture. The purpose of the study is presenting the appearance of thecultural construction in the north-western Shanxi anti-Japanese basearea to readers, so that make people to know the conditions of thecultural construction, deepen people’s understanding of the baseareas, and promote the construction of socialist culture with Chinesecharacteristics.This thesis is divided into six chapters to discuss:The cause and the significance of the selected topic, the literature review, the difficulty and innovation of the paper, the definition, theideas and methods of the research are introduced in the introductionpart, as preparation for the text discussion.The first chapter briefly introduces the establishment of thenorthwestern Shanxi anti-Japanese base area and the historicalbackground of the cultural construction, which is the precondition todiscuss the culture construction.In the second chapter, the development stages of the culturalconstruction in the north-western Shanxi anti-Japanese base areaare discussed. I think it is the threshold of the cultural construction innorth-western Shanxi anti-Japanese base area from the outbreak ofthe anti-Japanese war in1937, when the communist party of Chinastarted to carry out activities in the north-western Shanxi, to theestablishment of the new regime in1940. It is the development stageof cultural construction from the establishment of the new regime in1940to the rectification movement in1942. In the stage, the culturalconstruction in north-western Shanxi anti-Japanese base area ispromoted, due to the change of the regime’s nature and theestablishment of serious cultural education institutions. The period ofsteady increase and boom on cultural construction is from therectification movement in1942to the victory of resistance Japanesein1945. The third chapter discusses the goal and policy of culturalconstruction in north-western Shanxi anti-Japanese base area. I thinkthat the goal of cultural construction is to establish new-democraticculture in the base area, to improve the people’s nationalconsciousness, political consciousness and cultural level, to boycottJapanese “cultural invasion”, so that serving for the anti-Japanese,rescuing our country and consolidate the new regime. As a result ofthe limitation of the social and history environment, the culturalpolicy of the base area is on the press and publishing, on theeducation, on the literature and art. The formulation andimplementation of these policies promoted the development ofcultural undertakings in the base area.The fourth chapter is mainly to discuss the situation of culturalinstitutions and culture construction. I think that the establishment ofvarious cultural institutions, especially the cultural unified leadershipof the northwestern Shanxi, named cultural national salvationassociation of northwestern Shanxi (hereinafter referred to as the“federation”), promote the cultural construction of northwesternShanxi anti-Japanese base area. While the formulation ofintellectuals policy and by absorbing, reforming the old intellectuals,cultivating their own cultural talents, enrich and strengthen thecultural construction, offer talent guarantee for the construction of the new democratic culture.The fifth chapter discusses the content of the cultural constructionin the northwestern Shanxi anti-Japanese base area, emphatically onfour aspects which are the press and publishing business, education,the movement of culture and entertainment, and the social ethos, inorder to highlight the development process and the majorachievement of the cultural construction.In chapter6, performance and characteristics of the culturalconstruction in the northwestern Shanxi anti-Japanese base area isdiscussed, and the cultural construction in the northwestern Shanxianti-Japanese base area and the cultural construction in the centralof China’s anti-Japanese base areas were compared. I think it hasmade great achievement on the cultural construction in thenorthwestern Shanxi anti-Japanese base area, and the goal ofcultural construction were achieved basically, while it has weaknessin the process of cultural construction, such as the tendency ofutilitarian, too much emphasis on the service for the political and soon. Due to the reasons of geographical location and historicalbackground, the cultural construction in the northwestern Shanxianti-Japanese base areas has some characteristics, such as thefoundation of culture is weak, the process of construction is complex,vigorously support from the enlightened gentry were obtained and so on.The conclusion part summarized the full text, which thinks that thecultural construction in the northwestern Shanxi anti-Japanese baseareas not only promoted the development of various undertakings inthe base areas and the victory of the anti-Japanese war, laid thefoundation for the future cultural construction of the northwesternShanxi anti-Japanese base area, but also provides lots of referencefor the cultural construction of socialist with Chinese characteristics.
