A significant tendency is the contemporary phonetics study connected with the study of dialect. The previous phonology study emphasized ancient, partial and synchronic analysis, and depreciated the modern, entire and diachrpnic analysis. This is the difference between the previous phonology study and modern phonology study. Recent twenty years, a great progress has been made on the modern phonology study. At the same time, more and more scholars begin to show solicitude for the construction of the modern dialect phonology. Abiding by the trains of thought, the thesis chooses the Tianmen dialect as the study subject and tries to do some work for the study of Tianmen dialect.Tianmen dialect belongs to Xinan dialect. Most of its study focuses on the dialect investigation, and few on the history study. What on earth Tianmen dialect have been gone through during the endless course, and on the different period what about the dialect characteristics? These questions are very important. We choose the literary compositions in rhyme of Tianmen in Ming and Qing dynasty as the study material and try to probe into some characteristics of Tianmen dialect in Ming and Qing dynasty to do some work for the study of Tianmen phonetic history. The representative literary compositions in rhyme chosen in the thesis are the Yin-Xiuxuan collected works produced by Zhong Xing; Tan-Yanchun collected works produced by Tan-Yuanchun; Shizhuang collected works produced by Hu-Chennuo; the literary compositions in rhyme produced by Liu Chun and Zhang-Qiying etc.Analyzing the rhyme of these literary compositions in rhyme, we can classify them into three types. The first type is the standard rime application that the official approved; the second type is the practical phonology, this type includes the current general phonology and dialect phonology. Most of the poets abide by the current general phonology when they rhyme according to the practical phonetic. Just for these reasons, they can not refrain from disclosing their dialect phonology andpatois. Using dialect phonetic into the rhyme has obvious manifestation in the literary compositions in rhyme of Tianmen in Ming and Qing dynasty. The third type is the temporary adapted the pronunciation to make the thyme harmonized. In the first part of text, we describe the Tianmen dialect system depending on the word form of dialect survey. In the second part, we specifically analyze the types of literary compositions in rhyme. In the third part, we analyze the mixed phenomenons in the literary compositions in rhyme. In the last part, we comprehensively analyze the mixed phenomenons and contrast with the Tianmen dialect in order to show the development of some characteristics in the Tianmen dialect during the recent five hundred years.Analyzing the rhyme of these poems, contrasting the common phonology in Ming and Qing dynasty and Guang Yun, we discover the characteristics of Tianmen dialect in Ming and Qing dynasty. Having no distinction between some "i, " and "in, an"; the stop coda being at the stage of combination; some "u"sneaked into"eu".
