Development Of Rural Christianity Under The Individual Perspective

For a long time,the development of Christianity in our country as a foreign religion is not smooth,which has been faced with the regulation of our government,the against of the elite, and the puzzle of civilians and so on. But since the80s, the number of religious has dramatic increased, especially in China’s vast rural area, the development of the Christian is hidden a huge potential market which is a certain effecting factor with the management of rural society. Hence, it will make a lot of sense to have a rural Christian research.This paper firstly selects a village as a case to show the rapidly developed rural Christianity, which accords the development status of the village Christian that further discusses the reasons of Christianity development under the background of individualization in the country.This paper believes that,with the deepening development of reform and opening up, the rural has gradually been incorporated into the relationship between the state and society transformation, on the one hand, the transformation process will vigorously push forward the rural economy and promote the farmers’production and living level.But on the other hand,this transformation also gradually leads to the collapse of the rural traditional society structure and values, increasingly blocking people out from the family and the village collective, which makes them no longer subject to the family, the collective. Accompanied with the individual is the spiritual changes in people’s production and lifestyle,and the changes have further caused the villagers’spiritual change, embodying in the village family relationship deconstruction that brings the loss, production support network’s resolution making the weak villager produced helplessness, and the social network fracture makes the villagers’ inner endless loneliness, the digestion of public cultural life has brought the spiritual emptiness, which increased risks and mobility of rural social that makes people more insecurity. However, it is the consequences of these individual representation that provides a growth of the soil for the development of Christianity,and has become an important cause of Christianity in rural development.Furthermore, from the view of national policy changes under the background of individual, the change of national policy provides a further development space for rural Christianity.Frist of all, the rural implement of household contacts responsibility system,broking the pattern of the rural collective productive labor,also breaking some of the vulnerable villagers depending on collective production Vision."Welfare state"has brought a greater blow in the rural social withdrawal to the original living at the edge of poverty village,Christian organizations welfare functions will undoubtedly has great attraction for them;Secondly,the development in addition to the organization of other economic organizations outside the country,the rural social organization loses its effectiveness based after the development reform and opening up;Finally,the implementation of the policy freedom of religious belief for Rural Christianity has provided a legal basis for certain,some underground Christian organization"first appearance",and also the development of Christian like bamboo shoots after a spring rain.In the individual background non religious villagers to Christian selective identity attitude has also affected the development of rural Christianity. Selective identity is a kind of attitude of villagers to Christians, it is in some ways by Christians, but also in some areas show off, the rational value judgment. Different farmers classes towards Christian attitudes have showed selective identity: ordinary villagers treat Christian praise as good deeds,moreover to them with the traditional customs, it means culture and ethics "destructive" collision and besides they do not regard it as right; rural doctors treat Christians from its own occupation, on the one hand they amuse oneself, useful and, on the other hand they also believe that the Christian God is the sick of superstitions, and a way to envying church management "amass wealth"; the village management think when Christians became "obedient", they may also cause some unstable factors, so the village management are particularly worrying about the powerful appeal of the church backbone.Christianity in the development of rural society to the village governance has brought some certain influence. Mainly in the weakened grass-roots political authority, and the small group consciousness is strong, and the sectarian obviously to the village governance has brought some difficulties, and some places even have directed intervention regime. Therefore, to strengthen the supervision is to improve the status of Christianity, and the Christian faith is the meaning.
