Report On The Cross-cultural Adaptation Of The Kyrgyz Students In Beijing

Globalization is the most important process of today’s life. In the current process of the globalization, more international students are studying in China, and more Chinese students are going abroad to study. The same with the students from the Kyrgyz Republic, more Kyrgyz students are learning Chinese language and Chinese culture in Kyrgyzstan, a lot of Kyrgyz students are studying in China, and the number of the students in Beijing also increases year by year, therefore the cross-cultural adaptation problems are worth to study.The ancient "Silk Road" brought a long history between China and Kyrgyzstan. Nevertheless, there is a big difference between Kyrgyzstan and China in political, economic, religious, cultural and daily living habits, as well as social values, such as thinking, behavior and others. Therefore, the Kyrgyz students, who are studying in China, have a difficulties and problems in cross-cultural adaptation.Data gathered and analysis through surveys and interviews, reading literature and researchers mainly about the study of the cross-cultural adaptation, collecting data based on the Kyrgyz students in Beijing, the author analyzed the cross-cultural adaptation of the Kyrgyz students in Beijing. The content is as follows:Firstly, through the classification, stage, models and other aspects of the cross-cultural adaptation, the author have summarized and reviewed the cross-cultural studies.Secondly, the analysis of the surveys and interviews of the Kyrgyz students in Beijing summarized the problems of the Kyrgyz students in the social and learning aspects of the cross-cultural adaptation. Further the author analyzes and summaries the main causes of the cross-cultural problems of the Kyrgyz students in this two aspects.Finally, through the cross-cultural adaptation theories, the author gives some suggestions to solve the difficulties in the cross-cultural adaptation field for the Kyrgyz students and to the professional staff of the International Chinese language Education.
