The emergence and development of writing is a sign of the origin of civilized society, and a token of the development of human cultural. Writing is a symbol used to record human language, and a bridge of the spread of information. There are abundant cultural and graphical informations in the meaning and the form of writing, and this kind of imagery feature reveals a great relevance between writing and graphics. The associative design of graphic images and writing is an effective communication process of imagery in visual form, in which graphic images were being planned and programmed. There is a logic function of performance in graphical information transmission in this design, and thus, the imagery features conveyed by primary experiences, such as thoughts, attitudes, emotions, feelings, could be expressed as symbolic image information. And this kind of expression is difficult to be carried out using writing and spoken language.In this thesis, based on the "pictographic" and "ideographic" inherent in the writing, the relative graphic informations, imageries and symbols of the writing had been refined carefully, and, the graphic encoding and information decoding had been carried out reasonably and broadly. This process is not a simple and irregular graphical processing of objective images, but a research of the shape and meaning of the writing through an entry point of Chinese and English "morphological structure","image information","writing rules" in accordance with need of visual aesthetic. The objective of this process is to reconstruct the artistic image of writing while exacting relevant information of writing, to convert the original "phonetic meaning symbols" into "visual symbols" of writing, to perceive interest of converting of relative informations between writing and graphics, to discriminate the symbolic feature of writing further, to proofread image informations and relative graphic language contained in writing, and to reach a deeper perceiving and understanding of "Writing".
