With the development of globalization and China entering the World TradeOrganization, China has more and more foreign affairs. Thus it is necessary to learnforeign laws. Also people need to learn foreign law by translating them. And thispractice report is about the translation of the Property Law Act1958VictoriaAustralia. In this report, the translator mainly discusses the archaism’s conversiontranslation,the couplets’ concise translation, the literal translation of simple sentence,the literal translation and liberal translation of compound sentence.This report can be divided into four chapters. Chapter one is about the briefintroduction of this translation project. Chapter two is about the brief description ofthe translation process and the characteristics of legal texts. While the most importantpart of this report is chapter three, which is the case analysis. It mainly discusses theproblems on the vocabulary level and syntactic level and provides the solution such asthe archaism’s conversion translation, the literal translation of simple sentence. Thelast chapter is chapter four, which is about the summary of this translation practice.By this translation practice, the translator argues that translators should not onlyconsider their own subjectivity, but also consider the readers’ feelings, the readabilityand acceptability of translated texts when translating the technical texts.
