The Experimental Research On The Impact Of Self-esteem, Time Pressure, Probability Level On Risk Decision-making

People’s life is full of decision-making,we may make decision everyday,so life is aprocess of perpetual decision-making.Of course human’s decision-making is often risky,sowe can not avoid making risky decision in our daily life.And risk decision-making is also thecore in the field of decision-making with most features,so the research of riskdecision-making has become a hotpot in recent years.And discusses on such theory and studyon its influential factors emerge continuously,meanwhile,there has acquired someachievements in the field.Based on the theory and previous empirical research of risk decision-making,we discussthree kinds of characteristic factors influencing risk decision-making. Concretely, they arepersonality,the character of decision-making task,the character of decision-makingcondition.We started from the three kinds of characteristic factors influencing riskdecision-making,and chose three variables for this research.We used a2(high self-esteem,lowself-esteem)×2(time pressure,no time pressure)×3(high probability level,middle probabilitylevel,low probability level) mixed design to discuss the impact on risky decision-making, andthe self-esteem, the time pressure and the probability level as the independent variables.In theabove three factors, the self-esteem and time pressure are between-subjects variables, theprobability level is within-subjects variable.The score the participant gets is the dependentvariable.This research includes three risky situations,to avoid the impact of the risky situation,weanalyzed the result separately according to the risky situation.The result of the researchindicates that:In the situation of dealing with disease, the main effect of the self-esteem was notsignificant, the main effect of the time pressure was not significant.,the main effect of theprobability level was significant.The interactive effects between the self-esteem and timepressure were significant.The interactive effects between the probability level and the timepressure were significant.In the situation of investing successfully, the main effect of the self-esteem was not significant, the main effect of the time pressure was not significant.,the main effect of theprobability level was significant.The interactive effects among the three factors were notsignificant.In the situation of investing unsuccessfully, the main effect of the self-esteem was notsignificant, the main effect of the time pressure was not significant,the main effect of theprobability level was significant.The interactive effects among the three factors were notsignificant.The conclusion we can get from the study is that the self-esteem and the time pressuredon’t influence risk decision-making, probability levels influence risk decision-makingsignificantly,and under the low probability level,people choose risky decision,under themiddle and the high probability level,people make conservative decision.With different risksituations,the interactive effects among the three factors are different,in the risky situation ofdealing disease,the interactive effects between the self-esteem and the time pressure aresignificant,and the interactive effects between the probability level and the time pressure aresignificant. In the risky situations of investing successfully and the situation of investingunsuccessfully,the interactive effects among the three factors were not significant.
