"Listening","Speaking","Reading"and "Writing"is not a single one in the study of language."Reading"and"Writing" is the advanced and deepening stage which based on "Listening"and "Speaking". Only after master a certain language skills can guarantee the fluent written language and the static linguistic knowledge convert to the dynamic state. After many students get into the intermediate phrase, their written ability can not up to the level of the corresponding. The intermediate writing teaching play the role linking the preceding and the following as other skills class of TCSL. Compare to elementary stage, the intermediate improve the level of the imparting of knowledge and teaching requirement.The compile of textbook is bound up with the teaching method. We will study the the writing material which compile with the popular task-based teaching method and compare it with other kind materials, analyse them on the basis of merit and demerit. It is not only provide some consultative opinions but also improve the spread of the task-based method and meterials.This paper compared two practical chinese writing textbook on the base of recognizing the importance of foreign writing textbook----"Chinese Writing Tutorial(A kind of intermediate)"and "Experiening chinese writing tutorial(intermediate)".With the comparative analysis of corpus samples method, this paper explore the writing textbook which represent different phrase and teaching philosophy,find the inheritance and developent between them, providing some suggestion to the compile of writing textbook.The paper consist of four chapters.Chapter one is an introduction part,mainly introduce the meaning, scope and methods of the research, then expound some related research theory and background.The second chapter expound the basic connotation and operational mode of task-based teaching method. Meantime, explain the advantage of this method in TCSL,expecially apply to the teaching of writing.Chapter three is the main part that compare the two textbook in all directions.At first,starting from the teaching plan, compare the books from the parts of author, compilation principle, teaching objectives, teaching objects, teaching suggestions and so on. Then analyse the major structure of the books in all direction:compare the source, types and length of model essay with data and forms, count the writing themes, analyse the expound of the writing knowledge, explore the practice of related languange and writing knowledge.Chapter four analyse the progress of the task-based material on the base of conclusion. It is not only point out that task-based textbook have advantages in compilation philosophy, writing themes and exercise, but also the dificiency and the direction to improve in future, and put foward some advice to the construction of writing material in TCSL, in order to help the research of compiling work.At last conclude the study of this paper, point out the diffculties and deficiency, looking into the future of intermediate writing textbooks.
