Foreign language teaching materials play a vital role in reforming foreign language teaching (FLT). Choosing and using the suitable textbook is one of the important factors to complete the teaching contents and achieve the teaching goals. Moreover, textbooks can guarantee implementing the teaching syllabus. Therefore, it is the primary evidence for the teachers to organize the teaching activities and the main source for the students to gain their knowledge, skills and learning strategies. How to take advantage of the textbook is the key to the success in teaching.In this thesis the author narrates the relevant teaching materials, theory and standard of textbook evaluation in detail. The author evaluates and analyzes the NSE textbook by the experts’standard of evaluation, proving the rationality of the textbook. What’s more, by quoting the theories and researches of the experts at home and abroad, the author has found enough theoretical support for the argument that teachers can make use of the textbook more efficiently by integrating the content with the module task. The author carried out the research by means of questionnaires, classroom observation, and interview in Tanggu No.1high school, in September,2011. At the beginning, through the questionnaires, the information about the teachers and students’attitudes towards the module task were collected. During the research process, the author kept on observing the classroom teaching of the teachers of class one and class18in senior one and the teachers of class one and class18in senior two. The author has confirmed that the method is practical and scientific. At the end of the research some teachers and students were interviewed, and some changes in the attitudes and English learning were found.On the basis of fully demonstrating that the way of integrating the content with the task is practical and scientific, the author also put forward some suggestions to the teachers who are teaching the NSE textbook, expecting to offer some help.
