The foreign Chinese material is the important part of foreign Chinese characters teaching. The quality of the materials has the direct influence in the implementation of teaching process and the teaching effectiveness. In recent years, foreign Chinese material compiling in China has made considerable progress. A large number of foreign Chinese materials have appeared. Different types of the foreign Chinese textbooks have appeared,too. In the foreign Chinese material development process, we can divide the materials into two types: integrated curriculum supporting materials and independent teaching materials for the foreign Chinese teaching. These two types of the materials are different in compiling principles, preparation methods, knowledge and so on. In this paper, we will choose two integrated curriculum supporting materials of the primary stage and two independent teaching materials of the primary stage and we will compare and have research on them. We will analysis their similarities and differences, advantages and disadvantages, and give some advice for the foreign Chinese materials compiling in the future.This paper is made of seven chapters.The first chapter is the introduction, clarified the reason to research, the research object, the research method, generalized and summarized about the research situation in the materials, teaching, acquisition in foreign Chinese characters in the past years.The second chapter is the brief introduction of the situation about the foreign Chinese materials published in recent years. And introduced four materiald that we do research in this paper, explain the reason of the selection of these four sets of materials and the similarities and differences among these four sets of textbooks as a whole.The third chapter is a comparative analysis of the four sets of textbook knowledge, Through the analysis and data statistics of stroke, stroke order, the structure of the Chinese characters, Chinese character component and other aspects, We will analyze the advantages and disadvantages of various materials in the aspect of knowledge point layout.The fourth chapter analyzed the words in each set of teaching material selections, we will compare the characters in teaching materials to <the Outline of Chinese Vocabulary and Chinese Characters Level>, and analyzed the characters in teaching materials in the distribution and the proportion of four levels of <the Outline of Chinese Vocabulary and Chinese Characters Level>.The fifth chapter investigates the single-component characters those are recorded in four sets of teaching materials. And we have the comparison in the single-component characters in these four teaching materials and the single-component characters in1000commonly characters. And we will investigate the distribution of the single-component characters in the textbooks and the distribution and the proportion of those characters of textbooks in1000commonly characters.The sixth chapter is a summary of the above research results. It is concluded that the similarities and differences, advantages and disadvantages in knowledge arrangement, characters, single-component characters in these four teaching materials.The seventh chapter, through the summary of the above research results, it is concluded that the advantages and the disadvantages of four sets of compiling textbooks. And for the disadvantages, we put forward our proposals.
