In this paper, we have examined and analyzed the two thousand six hundred andseventy-four pieces of bones′in the Oracle Bone Collections in Great Britain.we organizedall the rubbings of oracle bone characters one by one using methods of philology, and thensequenced them according the order of14radicals in ShuoWenJieZi. Our research is baseon above mentioned ancient characters we sorted out.In the introduction of this paper, we briefly introduce relative content about the objectof our study, namely the Oracle Bone Collections in Great Britain. We also summarizeprevious researches and findings, the meaning of this paper, and methods we are using tostudy. The main body of this paper can be divided into five parts: the statistics ofcharacters quantity and their frequency of utilization, analysis on the glyph structure, thestudy on usage of the characters and re-explaining of difficult characters. The first twochapters present statistical results of quantity and frequency of every character in theOracle Bone Collections in Great Britain, followed with the induction and description inorder to illustrate the overall situation of their usage. In the third chapter we classified allYishizi(已识字) in the Collection into4glyph structure parts: Xianxingzi(象形字),Zhishizi(指事字), Huiyizi(会意字)and Xingshengzi(形声字), and made relativeexplanation. Chapter four is a study about issues of usage situation among characters in theOracle Bone Collections in Great BritainThe fifth part of this paper is to re-explaincharacters haven t been explained properly based on predecessors. Normally, we gatheredup different opinions about how a character could be understood before made a conclusionof our own. The peroration summarizes the whole paper. In this part we recapitulate thestatistics that are involved, the emphasis of the study and our final conclusion. Theappendix is consist of three forms: the table of Yishizi(已识字), Kelidingzi(可隶定字) and Bukelidingzi(不可隶定字)...
